Manning will make a presentation many entrepreneurs need to hear. He will address the critical issue of intellectual property protection strategies for early-stage businesses and entrepreneurs, which includes an overview on patent and trade secret protection, and in what circumstances each protection strategy may be appropriate. This hands-on workshop will also include an extensive Q&A opportunity so you can get a great start on protecting your product / service.
About the speaker
Russ Manning represents clients in diverse matters involving intellectual property (IP) rights including patent preparation and prosecution for start-up and established companies. He has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting United States patent applications in a variety of technical fields, including: communication systems, medical devices, medical imaging processing software and systems, aerospace devices, as well as a variety of mechanical systems. In addition, Manning’s practice includes counseling to render legal opinions on patent validity and infringement, IP due diligence support, licensing and counseling as to intellectual property transactions.
Manning earned his engineering degree from the University of Wyoming, where he focused on thermodynamic and fluid flow aspects of mechanical engineering. After earning his undergraduate degree, he worked in the aerospace industry where he obtained design engineering experience. He subsequently attended law school and shortly after graduating, joined the Boulder office of Marsh, Fischmann and Breyfogle LLP as an associate. Mr. Manning became a member of the partnership in 2007.
